Community Life
Many opportunities are available to participate in the life of the Roanoke United Methodist Home. In order to better communicate all that we offer, we publish a monthly newsletter and activities calendar. In addition, our retirement community residents are welcome to attend a monthly meeting with key members of staff which includes a question and answer period.
Opportunities for fellowship exist not only on our senior living campus but in the community. We welcome a variety of groups to perform, sing, host monthly birthday parties, volunteer and a variety of other activities. We look for opportunities to attend events of interest in the community and schedule weekly breakfasts and dinners at favorite restaurants with transportation provided at no charge, of course.
As the seasons change, so do the activities and offerings. Our Activities Director looks for new and interesting events; our Dining Manager and Chef plan a monthly dinner typically featuring the cuisine of a foreign country; our Maintenance staff stays busy with the upkeep of our beautiful buildings and campus. Our Chaplain visits with residents on our campus and at the hospital and provides spiritual counsel. Our Social Worker is available to provide supportive services and most importantly, our Executive Director’s door is always open to you!
