Activities abound at the Roanoke United Methodist Home. There is something for everyone whether it is an activity out in the community or an activity located on the premises. There are outings to local art museums and shops, musical concerts, games, local sporting events, dinner theatres, as well as weekly outings to local restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping malls. Each week brings Bible studies, Vespers, and group gatherings. Our residents delight in ice cream socials, special events, and they enjoy cooking, art activities, and one on one time with our staff. Residents gather each autumn for our annual bazaar, a long time tradition for our home.

The monthly events calendar is designed with a number of events for the Independent residents as well as therapeutic, recreational activities for the Assisted Living and Health Care residents. Our volunteers, both resident and community, play an important role with our activities such as reading to a group of residents, brightening up a dining room, providing flower arrangements, offering sewing services, or stopping by for a friendly visit. They strengthen our sense of community here at Roanoke United Methodist Home.
